Letting People Down

Caption: We ALL have a ‘‘piano’’—and by that, I mean, we all have a situation where our truth clashes with other people’s expectations.

I know people who’ve moved states, worked a job they hated, and gotten married, because they were scared to let someone down.

The very thought makes us feel like a ‘‘bad person.’’ When in reality, we cannot live authentically without occasionally letting someone down.

Of course, we all need to make compromises with our loved ones. But this is not about that.

This is about people pleasing and morphing into a more ‘acceptable’ version of yourself.

Remember, you cannot live authentically without occasionally letting someone down.
